Recent Beauty Faves

Hi Guys! 

I know right, Its been a hot minute since i have blogged but I wanted to share some things I have been loving the past few months. There has been so much going on in our lives lately and retail therapy has been doing me good or bad how ever you look at it lol.... 

For my birthday I got a gift card for Sephora & it just so happens my birthday always lands around the Sephora VIB sale so I had a 20% OFF code to use with it. I picked up this Instant look eyeshadow & face palette by Charlotte Tilbury. We had a trip to Disneyland right after Christmas and I thought this would be the perfect travel palette plus I really wanted to try some more of her products and figured it was a perfect time. I find myself using this every day its so perfect for an all in one look, It comes with 3 eye shadows, two blushes, and bronzer & a highlighter all in one little palette.  It has is defiantly a splurge and I'm so glad i was able to get it with the discount and gift card because i most defiantly wouldn't have ever pulled the plug and bought it on my own but it is so good and the colors are pretty amazing and pigmented & I have gotten so many compliments every time i wear it esp the highlighter.

One of my dear sweet friends gifted me the Nars sheer glow foundation I have always wanted to try this but never did because i was afraid it would be too gloomy as i tend to have oily skin and i would look like a sweaty disco ball. However it is amazing and is a medium build able natural finish that looks like  you have perfect skin! I so thankful she gave this ti me and can totally see myself buying this when it runs out!

I also have been loving this Laura Mercier pressed setting powder  I remember trying her loose setting powder before and loving it so when i was looking for a new face powder i thought id try this and i love the finish it gives.. I do find myself have to touch up later in the day but thats pretty normal esp with oily skin. but will def be repurchasing this powder and love the pressed compact thats perfect for travel and touch ups on the go.

Before our Disney trip I also picked up this tiny little "sample" size of the Benefit Hello Happy soft blur foundation. This is actually my second little bottle of this and I love it! I feel like this is going to be my go to summer foundation and defiantly plan to buy a bigger full sized bottle closer to summer.  Its the perfect lightweight foundation that is build able and totally evens out my skin. 

A few more Benefit products i have been loving lately  is the Hoola Bronzer  & the Dandelion twinkle highlighter  and honestly just resized i have been using this highlighter as a blush snd not a highlighter lmao insert face palm emoji... oh well i love it anyways it gives a subtle pinky glow and goes great with the bronzer.

I recently saw a youtube video and Allana Davison was using the revlon lip tint and i got curious and I'm so happy i did because they are so good i went back and bought two more and every color i have tried is so good! . Because it is a lip tint it kinda wears off throughout the day but still looks pretty good. and the pigmentation is so good. Speaking of influencers.... Another one i have been loving is Jennifer Reed from the sister studios blog. Sh is amazing and always shares the best fashion deals and i have bought soon many things from American Eagle , Old Navy & even Amazon because of her...like I said retail therapy is the best kind of therapy but she also recommended this Total renewal micro-dermabrasion exfoliator  i have been using it for about two weeks and I'm obsessed! it has given my skin new life and is super affordable!!! ONLY $17!!!   Guys its so amazing trust me on this!

Lastly I picked up the  Urban Decay  Brow Endowed volumizer  I really wanted to try the new brow pencil & ink stain pen but they were out of my color and thought id try this instead. I will say I'm not fond of the primer and have only been using the brow cream. the wand is super tiny and so easy to use. perfect for when i don't want to have to sculpt them out with a pencil and it is smudge /waterproof!!! who doesn't love smudge proof brows!

Kinsley's big girl room

Hello loves! I just ordered this girls 5th birthday party invitations and I can’t believe she’s turning 5 already!  Time is flying by so fast! 

Since she’s turning 5, I wanted to share her big girl room. This room used to the master bedroom and when we re did the floors we also switched rooms and tore down the wall in the other two rooms making it the bigger master bedroom. I have been slowly finding pieces for her roman I'm loving it guys! It is totally Kins in all the fun girly ways. 

Some of my fave pieces in her room is this shelf i shared about in my last Nathan James post. It is perfect for helping to organize her special things a little better and keeping all those LOL Dolls off the floor. the quality is really amazing even my hubby was impressed. Plus it goes great with the other things in her room. I had originally wanted to use this for a different area but realized it would look so good in here and i'm so happy i did.
 I picked up this amazing
mirror from Target and love it, its perfect for playing dress up and let me tell you this girl loves a good mirror.  I found this amazing stool and 3 tier wire basket at home goods last week and they really help complete the room and this basket is amazing for holding all her bows /sunglasses & shoes. And of course the probably most used piece besides her bed  
 even more than her bed is her Doll House . Its huge but she loves it so much.
I honestly feel like her room is my favorite in the whole house and if I could get away with polka dot sheets, rainbows & unicorns in my room i totally would .

Halloween Reads

Hello loves!  I know it’s super early for a Halloween post but ... I’m so ready for all things fall and love to be ahead of the game so I thought I’d share some of our fave Halloween books .  I always try to change up our book every season & holiday, so as soon as August was over I was switching things up and busting out all the Halloween stuff. I love Summer just as much as the next person but Fall is really my jam! Give me all the cozy sweaters, pumpkins & Ugg boots!

At Home with Nathan James

Hello Loves! 

I'm not one for blogging or posting to much on our home renovations that have been taking place for what seems like eternity. We have lived in this house for  almost 7 years and really just started with major changes the last 2 1/12 years , but things are finally all falling in to place & I'm so happy with the outcome and i want to start sharing these rooms as we add the finishing touches.

The Living Room:

This room was a disaster when we first moved in. Think light carpets, red fireplaces (insert barf emoji) first we did a major paint job and when the major changes came we added a built in, new tile floors, ceiling lights and fresh bright white paint.  We also added a fireplace insert and painted the fire place black!! I love the black so much and really ties in with the dark tiles for the floor 

We just received this amazing coffee table from Nathan James and I'm so obsessed with it! It goes so well with our style. I call it a touch of modern farmhouse meets classic rustic chic lol. I got a wire basket at Target for all of Kinsley's color books and markers, and this awesome rustic metal tray from home goods for around $20 and added some coasters and a candle and this cute little box to hold the million remotes.  I love how it looks and all fits together in the small space we have. 

Nathan James Home has such amazing pieces and very affordable  we got the Maxx coffee table

but I'm loving the Book shelf the Doxa coffee table,  as well. I think Kins likes it too she has already put her toys & apple juice all over it and it was super easy to clean up I was worried the wood would spin or get yuckier after her spills but its pretty amazing! Hopefully we can get the kitchen backsplash in next and finish that room, and we are almost done with the bathroom. i can't wait to share more!

Lemon Squeeze

Hello Loves!

Still over here trying to find some normalcy in this crazy season of life over here. We have an extra busy couple of weeks until school starts and i have been slowly trying to get a few things for Kins for school. My problem however is letting her wear them before school actually starts!! (insert face palm emoji) That was always my problem as a teen as well. I couldn't wait and wanted to wear them right away, Who doesn't love new clothes ?! 

Any who, I ordered this amazing Tee from Jean & June  as a shirt for school and put it on her immediately. It is so freaking soft you guys!  i love a cute simple tee rather than the crazy graphic tees in most stores for kids her age.  These Child Hoods Clothing   shorties are so perfect for summer and pair so well with everything they are a must have for us.  Of course our fave Freshly picked sandals ( PS they just had a restock) & a yellow bow because..... Duh Lemonade

We are starting this weekend off with birthday parties and all the family hangs. what are you up to this weekend?

Hello Again! Two posts in one week i can't believe it! This dress was way to good not to share and I'm seriously crushing on it  hard and wish they had a mama version, even though i don't think i could pull it off lol.  I ordered it for "back to school" purposes  but i needed to have her wear it now because i love it so much and so does she.. That just gives us the excuses to buy another one for school right?! right!!  Super cute , super comfortable , super perfect for the 4th of July fireworks and come on those pockets! I can't!!  Plus it is Kinsie approved with amazing twirl action... need i say more! She paired it with these adorable mickey mouse sunnies from target and her vans slip ons but her pair of freshly picked cherry clogs would look so cute with this too. .

Summer Glow

Summer is in full swing and I wanted to share some glowy skin products I have been loving! 

I have oily to combination skin and usually i try to stay away from anything that will make me look greasy or to oily esp in the summer months but there is something about a glowy / bronzy look that just gets me feeling some type of way. 

Highlighters are my jam and I seriously have so many I could do a whole post on just them alone but, these are a few of my faves the I can't live without.

 ABH Glow Kit is my holy grail highlighter! I bought this last summer and fell in love. obvs you can see i use the summer highlighter the most but the darker shades are perfect for bronzing up the face and giving that summer bronzy glow that is just ahhhhmaze 

I ordered this mini Fenty beauty highlighter / lip gloss KIT in the fall and ended up giving the gloss to my friend and keeping the highlighter thinking this will be so good for summer and totally forgot about it until today and wore it and I was right! its so good guys!  I believe the shade I got was Hu$ter Baby .

This ABH  Amrezy highlighter is also one of my favorites right now its so soft almost like a wet highlight & not super powdery which I love, but the pigmentation is so beautiful. I'm really kicking myself for not buying a back up because it is limited edition.. but i did find a good wet & wild highlighter that is pretty much a similar formula.

Dose of color  Mirame highlight was from the DESI X KATY collection so i had to get it and really wanted the other one that they had because it was a lighter color but everything kept selling out so fast so i just grabbed this one ...FOMO what can i say  this is another one what is a gold bronzy color perfect for summer.

 Flexitarian by Colourpop is my holy grail creamy highlighter its simply amazing and i literally  have gone thou 2 of these already. I love applying this after foundation and concealer. If i really want it to pop i will add a powder highlight on top but it can be worn alone as well and still looks so good.  I have also used it for the eyes as well and if i could only pick one out of this whole pile of highlighters i would prob pick this and reach for it the most. 

I saw this Loreal Glotion on a you tube video and wanted to give it a try. I was a little skeptical about it because again i have oily skin and didn't want to look like a grease ball but, I'm pleasantly surprised it doesn't make me look like one. its a subtle lit from with in glow that really helps my skin brighten up. I apply this after my moisturizer and before foundation and concealer. I also picked up these liquid Glow Boosting drops  and put them on after foundation concealer a little goes a long way and its super pigmented so I don't use this with the cream highlighter from color pop with it. but it is great for the really hot days when you want to wear as little as possible not reach for that powder highlighter.

Now I'm going to talk a little bit about some cream eye products that I'm seriously in love with. 

 I have seen so many people on you tube rave about this Tarte crome paint pot in top yacht  and it was out of stock for so long but i finally managed to get a hold of one and love it! Its so good for summer and gives your eyes that pop of metallic shimmer that every glow girl needs! its super easy to use i use my finer and just pat it on my eye and I usually layer it on top of my next fave. I have been lusting after these for quite a while and they are pretty pricey but I finally took the plunge and picked up charlotte Tilbery EYES TO MESMERISE cream eye shadow  in the shade JEAN.  Its an amazing cream eye shadow and jean is a  sparkling, shimmering gold pink champagne.  I seriously want to get them all but need to win the lottery first. So easy to apply and is just gorgeous don't want it to ever run out lol. 

Some times I use this Mario Bradescu rose facial spray after I'm done with my makeup and then add another touch of highlighter and with my skin being wet it just really takes the highlighter to another level. But it is a great spray for freshening up the skin esp when its hot as hell outside. And of course a great pack of makeup remover wipes. I just got these from a influenster spark box and these are a good thick makeup wipe and not super wet like some . I hate using a makeup wipe that's so wet it dripes all in your eyeswissperss .
